Soil Health
SOIL HEALTH
With support from Cumbria Wildlife Trust, and Lancaster Univeristy co-ordinating a range of soil researchers and ecologists. We have been awarded a Soil Association Innovative Farmers grant.
This study will take place over a two year period during which we will explore soil health and its structure across the various members' farms. We will focus on the different management practices and how these impact the soil, its structure and health, and ultimately its productivity.
Through lab research and on farm studies we will work towards a better understanding of our soil and how practical changes in our farming techniques can impact and improve this.
